Flint River - Georgia

The Flint River flows combines with the Chattahoochee to form the Apalachicola and flows into Florida and Gulf. The water flows through this system have been the subject of a long and intense battle between Georgia, Alabama and Florida. These flows nurture the Apalachicola Bay, home to the highly productive oyster beds and an old way of life. We should be doing everything we can to protect this vital basin.

Snow Days in Atlanta!

We've had two snow storms that have shut the city down in the last two weeks. Kind of unusual for this part of the country, so you can bet everyone with a camera in town was out snapping shots.

Davidson – Arabia Nature Preserve

Along with Panola Mountain State Park, the Davidson-Arabia Preserve make up the Arabia Mountain National Heritage Area. It's a part of Georgia that is rich in cultural history as well as unique geology and a number of rare plants.

The Adirondacks Pt 2

The Adirondacks encompass over 6 million acres in a patchwork of public and private lands. That is a larger area than Yellowstone, Yosemite, Grand Canyon, Great Smoky, and Everglades National Parks combined. These shots were taken at the 3000 acre Visitor Interpretive Center (VIC), part of Paul Smith's College.
